The Grand Trunk station at 288 Main St in Yarmouth, ME, 43°48'04.64"N 70°11'24.95"W, was built in 1906 on the railroad north or physical east side of the Grand Trunk Railway Montreal to Portland line. The fine preservation of the building is because the Yarmouth Village Improvement Society bought it soon after the cessation of passenger service from the Canadian National Railway for $500.00 in 1968.
It is unique for it's high granite foundation and round railroad west end and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 10th of 1979. The waiting room was not in the station but on the other side of the tracks.
